Field validation
Confirm clutch torque capacity for the intended duty cycle, not just an advertised peak number. Inspect differential mounts/bushings, axles, hubs and wheel bearings before asking an old drivetrain to absorb substantially more torque.

2JZ-GTE field checks
Measure the driveshaft only after engine and transmission mounts are finalized at ride height and the differential is in its final position. Verify slip-yoke engagement or flange requirements with the driveshaft/transmission supplier and provide sufficient movement without bottoming or overextending.
Driveline angle problems show up as speed- or load-dependent vibration and can damage joints and bearings. Engine/transmission mounts, differential/subframe bushings and chassis ride height all influence the working angles. Do not use soft or collapsed mounts to hide an alignment problem.
After the first shakedown, inspect mount fasteners, driveshaft hardware, axle nuts, differential mounts and fluid leaks. Torque reversals during acceleration/deceleration expose loose hardware quickly, especially on cars with solid or very stiff mounts.
For 2JZ-GTE, keep the exact donor/version in the diagnostic notes. Sensor locations, control logic, accessory layout and factory limits can vary inside an engine family, so a result from another version is a clue—not proof.
