Practical context
Use the parts builder after the engine, transmission and power target are frozen. Check off a system only when the actual component or strategy is known—not merely because you plan to buy “a radiator” or “some injectors.” Add part numbers and measurements to your own project notes.
Order dependencies matter. Mounts and oil pan affect engine position; engine/trans position affects driveshaft and exhaust; ECU strategy affects harness, fuel-pump control and fan control. Buying downstream parts before upstream geometry is fixed is one of the fastest ways to create duplicate spending.
Before first start, convert the parts list into an inspection list: fluids filled, fuel system pressure-tested, wiring fused/secured, grounds verified, cooling bleed plan ready, throttle free, exhaust clear of heat-sensitive parts and critical fasteners checked.
